SINGAPORE, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Singapore Changi Airport saw the highest growth in passenger traffic in six years for February, local media reported on Thursday.
Passenger traffic grew by 21.5 percent to 3.11 million passengers, local TV Channel NewsAsia reported.
The Changi Airport Group cited contributing factors including the Lunar New Year holiday and the Singapore Air Show.
Both the full service and low cost carriers also registered higher passenger traffic.
On the cargo front, air freight movements at Changi in February increased 16.2 percent to 130,578 tons, compared to a year ago.
Aircraft movements increased 11.4 percent to 19,617 during the month, with both full service and low cost carriers registering increases.
As of March 1, Changi Airport has 84 airlines operating 5,000 flights to some 200 cities in about 60 countries and territories.
