As this year marks the 15th anniversary of the China-ASEAN strategic partnership, a tourism promotion fair was held in Luang Prabang, Laos on July 3. The fair was hosted by the Tourism Development Commission of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, and aimed to further promote mutual cooperation between China and ASEAN states.
Being one of the five autonomous regions for ethnic minorities in China, Guangxi is the only area that boasts both land and maritime passageways to ASEAN nations. The area also boasts a wealth of tourism resources, such as traditional folk culture, ethnic customs and ecological landscapes, which have all given Guangxi an excellent reputation.
Organized by the Guangxi Tourism Development Group, the event attracted some 80 participants, including leaders and journalists from Luang Prabang.
