The first medical group for family healthcare services of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was registered in Nanning and obtained a business license on Jan 4. As a new practice model emerging in Guangxi, the establishment of the medical group marks an important step for Guangxi physicians to practice in more places.
Established by Guangxi Medical University Healthcare Co, the medical group currently provides personalized health management services for the public.
"Public hospitals lack services for proactive monitoring and health management. I hope that by signing with the medical group, I can more easily enjoy daily health management and medical assistance services," said Mr. Wei, a Nanning resident.
Doctors in Guangxi are allowed to carry out multi-point practices, which are beneficial to balancing medical resources in various places and helpful to increasing doctors' incomes, as well as allowing high-level doctors to obtain reasonable remuneration. It can also improve the levels of doctors in communities, primary medical institutions, and underdeveloped areas.
As a special expert, Professor Huang Yining, director of the neurology department at the First Hospital of Peking University, believes that the medical group can provide more platform management services for doctors or teams with multi-point practices, as well as provide high-level technical support conveniently. It also enables the public with conditions and needs to be able to access an additional channel for high quality health services.
Medical groups, also known as doctors' practice groups or doctors' practice organizations, are alliances or organizations of doctors of different disciplines that can provide more comprehensive, professional, refined, and personalized medical services.
China's first medical group was established in 2014, and the first business license was registered in Shenzhen, Guangdong province in 2016.
