As the first batch of passengers boarded their ship on Jan 12, the new terminal of Beihai International Passenger Port officially started its trial operation.

The project started in May 2018. After 21 months of intensive construction, it finally opened to passengers on the eve of the 2020 Spring Festival. After commissioning, the ship waiting hall of the new terminal is able to accommodate up to about 2,000 people. The terminal also supports a number of leisure, entertainment, and consumption areas.

The new terminal consists of three floors above ground and one basement floor. It mainly includes visitor parking lots, waiting halls, commercial areas, and major transportation organizations at the port.

The supporting facilities of the terminal are expected to open to the public in June 2020.
