Five Chinese companies including Tencent and Lenovo were recognized among the "World's Most Admired Companies" on Fortune's annual list.
The world's largest dedicated independent semiconductor foundry Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company ranked second in the semiconductor sector. Tencent ranked fifth in Internet servicing and retailing. Haier ranked fifth in home equipment and furnishings. Asus and Lenovo ranked sixth and eighth respectively in computer software.
Last year, e-commerce giant Alibaba was the first Chinese company to make the All-Star list, but no Chinese company made it this year.
For an astounding 13th straight year, Apple claims the top spot, followed by Amazon, Microsoft and Disney.
