Shanghai General Motors Wuling (SGMW), a famous car maker located in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, officially launched the first automatic mask machine on Feb 19 to contribute to the novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control efforts.
SGMW formed a team consisting of more than 120 experts and elite technicians to complete the structural design of the automatic mask machine in one day, officially launching it after 76 hours, providing a strong contribution for the expansion of mask production capacity.
The mask machine has high operating efficiency and low manufacturing costs. It will rapidly increase the output of masks after being put into production. After SGMW transformed its production lines to mask-making units several days ago, the company has now become the first domestic company to produce both masks and mask machines.

The company's self-built mask production lines are expected to reach an average daily production capacity of 2 million masks within this month. The masks will only be donated to the Liuzhou municipal government for unified deployment and to anti-epidemic workers at the front line, as well as partners in the upstream and downstream industries.
After the mask machine is put into production, SGMW can complete a new production line every day, and it plans to build 15 fully automatic production lines by the end of February.
SGMW is a large-scale Sino-foreign joint venture automobile company established by Shanghai Automotive Group Co, General Motors (China) Company, and Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Co. Statistics show that the company sold 1.66 million cars in 2019, ranking first in sales of Chinese brand cars.
