UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday strongly condemned Monday's attack on a World Health Organization (WHO) vehicle transporting COVID-19 surveillance samples in Myanmar's Rakhine State, his spokesman said.
The driver of the vehicle, a WHO worker, died in the attack and a Myanmar government official was seriously wounded.
Guterres called for a full and transparent investigation into the incident and for the perpetrators to be brought to justice, said Stephane Dujarric, the spokesman.
Both the Myanmar military and the ethnic Arakan Army, which clash in Rakhine State, have denied involvement in the attack. Enditem
