With the Beijing Winter Games less than a year away, WeChat users can use stickers featuring the Games mascots to express themselves.

Designed by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and a design team, stickers of panda Bing Dwen Dwen and red lantern Shuey Rhon Rhon convey vivid feelings.

Users of WeChat, China's most popular social networking app, can search for "冰墩墩和雪容融” in the "Sticker Gallery" to download. There are currently 4 sets of stickers. Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon sometimes speak Chinese and sometimes English.

Bing Dwen Dwen, the jovial panda mascot, is an ambassador for winter sports. “Bing” is the Chinese character for ice, which symbolizes purity and toughness, in line with the spirit of the Olympics. Dwen Dwen (墩墩) is a common nickname in China for children that suggests health and ingenuity.

Paralympics mascot Shuey Rhon Rhon resembles an iconic Chinese red lantern commonly seen on doors and streets during Chinese New Year, which in 2022 falls three days before the Olympic Games’ opening ceremony. It is imbued with the meanings of happiness, harvest, affluence and brightness.
