China's national college entrance exam for 2022, also known as Gaokao, began on Tuesday.
The number of examinees of Gaokao hit a record high in 2022. According to the Ministry of Education, in 2022, the number of applicants for the national college entrance examination has reached 11.93 million, an increase of 1.15 million over last year.
There are 330,000 general examination rooms across China. Among them, Beijing has 1,714 regular and 321 standby examination rooms in 18 exam areas.
Shanghai has postponed the examination to July 7-9 due to the COVID-19 epidemic. And the city’s General Senior Secondary School Academic Proficiency Examination also have been deferred accordingly and will be held from June 18 to 19.
