The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said it would gradually increase international passenger flights.
China will steadily resume regular international passenger flights and help reboot the international aviation market in light of the COVID-19 pandemic control measures, said Sun Wensheng, an official of the CAAC, at a press conference on Tuesday.
In the first half this year, daily flights totaled 2,967 due to impacts of a resurging pandemic, only 17.8 percent against the same period in 2019. Flights rebounded from the bottom in April and began to recover in May and June.
Since July, the number of daily civil aviation flights has remained above 10,000, indicating an upbeat recovery, Sun said.
