The four-day China-ASEAN Expo Durian Festival was held in both online and offline venues from July 6 to 9, aiming to deepen China-ASEAN cooperation in agricultural products as part of CAEXPO's series of economic and trade events.

A total of 63 domestic and overseas enterprises participated in the exhibition, while 110 ASEAN source suppliers carried out online talks with Chinese professional purchasers. Various kinds of durian were displayed during the event, as well as products made of durian, such as cake, ice cream, coffee, pizza, and stinky tofu.

Wei Zhaohui, secretary-general of the CAEXPO Secretariat, said that the event will integrate resources of the upstream and downstream durian industry, as well as promote the development of agricultural products' processing trade, creating new opportunities for Southeast Asian fruit to enter the Chinese market.

A purchaser from Guangdong province noted that many durian processing products in ASEAN countries haven't entered the Chinese market and that the durian industry still has room for growth.

Exhibitors from Malaysia, Thailand, as well as Vietnam said that the participation of many Chinese large e-commerce platforms and supply chain enterprises has provided cooperation channels for the promotion of their durian products.
