The opening ceremony of the Guangxi cultural tourism photo exhibition of the 2022 China Tourism Culture Week was held at the China Cultural Center in Berlin, capital of Germany, on Sept 9.
The 2022 China Tourism Culture Week is being held from Sept 1 to 15 through online and offline channels. It includes five sections, such as intangible cultural heritage items and poverty reduction, rural vitalization, urban construction, Yellow River culture, as well as Silk Road cultural tourism.
The Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is the provincial and ministerial partner of the China Cultural Center in Berlin throughout the year. The two parties are jointly organizing a series of online and offline cultural activities, with the Guangxi cultural tourism photo exhibition being an important project of the 2022 China Tourism Culture Week.
Sun Qinhang, deputy director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Berlin, said that China and Germany are both major tourism countries. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Germany was China's largest source of tourists in the European Union, while China was Germany's largest source of tourists from Asia.
Sun expressed hope that through the activities of the 2022 China Tourism Culture Week, exchanges and cooperation between China and Germany in the fields of culture and tourism will be further promoted, while the understanding and friendship between people from the two countries will be bolstered.
During the opening ceremony, attendees watched the cultural and tourism promotional videos of Nanning, Guilin, Chongzuo, as well as other cities in Guangxi. After the opening ceremony, the Chinese and German attendees went to the exhibition hall to enjoy the photo exhibition and participated in an activity designed to broaden people's awareness of Guangxi.
