The Guilin monk fruit-themed Air Guilin passenger plane makes its debut at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport on Sept 20. 

A Guilin monk fruit-themed Air Guilin passenger plane decorated with colorful paintings of Guilin monk fruit's Chinese characters "桂林罗汉果" and the charming landscape of the city made its debut at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport on Sept 20.

Guilin's monk fruit industry has established a complete industrial chain after being selected as a national advantageous industrial cluster construction project in 2020, according to Jiang Lin, deputy director of the Guilin bureau of agriculture and rural affairs.

It has become a pillar industry for Guilin's rural vitalization and the city has now been a global production, processing, distribution and export base of monk fruit.

Lan Fusheng, chairman of the Guilin-based Monk Fruit Corp, the aircraft's main sponsor, said that the sponsor is expected to further promote Guilin's monk fruit industry and help build the brand. The enterprise plans to devote continuous efforts to the monk fruit industry and help promote monk fruit culture globally.

Deng Kangkang, vice chairman of Air Guilin, noted that Air Guilin has opened more than 190 air routes to 81 cities since 2016 and the Guilin monk fruit-themed passenger plane is the enterprise's sixth decorated plane, helping promote Guilin in the air.
