The three-day 2022 China-ASEAN Building Industry and High-Quality Living Environment Expo took place from Nov 25 to 27 in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Pressing issues of sharing new development opportunities arising from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and building a new future of the building industry were discussed during the event.

Thai officials noted that local projects undertaken by Chinese construction enterprises have covered various areas of municipal engineering, water conservancy and transportation as well as ecological environmental protection, and have contributed a lot to the upgrading of local urban infrastructure and improvement of people's livelihoods.

Officials from Laos noted that the China-Laos Railway will be the first modern railway of Laos and contribute greatly to local people's income.

It was noted that the number of projects undertaken by Chinese enterprises in Myanmar, such as the national center for disease prevention and control, has been increasing in recent years.

The People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development signed a cooperation contract during the event to jointly build the China-ASEAN Building Exchange and Cooperation Center, which will also be a training base for talents in China and ASEAN countries.

Tang Biaowen, director of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, said that Guangxi will give full play to its advantageous geographic location to boost cooperation in the building industry between China and ASEAN countries.
