Donglan county was included on the list of Guangxi holistic tourism demonstration areas in 2022, which was recently released by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Donglan is a famous old revolutionary area in China that boasts abundant red cultural resources and green ecological resources. It is known as the hometown of generals, longevity, bronze drums, and chestnuts. It has 45 revolutionary sites and memorial facilities.

In recent years, the county has committed itself to the integrated development of red education, green ecology, leisure agriculture, and health care, implementing measures to address issues.

Donglan has promoted the construction of roads leading to scenic spots, with all townships and major scenic spots now connected to secondary roads. The county has implemented the construction of major projects like the Hongshui River Riverside Resort Hotel and the Hongshui River's First Bay forest recreation base.

Donglan has strengthened comprehensive supervision to protect the ecological environment. It has issued documents and policies for wetland protection and restoration, as well as ecological resources protection.
