A total of 104 projects, with an investment of 52.83 billion yuan ($7.8 billion), introduced from domestic areas outside of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have started construction, announced officials from the Investment Promotion Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Jan 31.
Of the 104 projects, 77 are manufacturing projects with a total investment of 37.84 billion yuan. MLS, a Zhongshan-based photoelectric enterprise, invested in the 2-billion-yuan semiconductor LED packaging and application industry chain project. While BYD invested in the 2-billion-yuan comprehensive testing site project for intelligent new energy vehicles.
Guangxi has devoted great efforts to attract projects in areas of machinery and equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, new green chemical materials, light industrial textiles, modern agriculture, big health, and cultural tourism and sports. Their efforts have paid off, as 89 such projects have signed contracts in the area and have started construction, with an overall investment of 48.93 billion yuan.
A total of 54 projects started construction in January, at a cost of 27.71 billion yuan. These projects are jointly coordinated by Guangxi, the Yangtze River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. They are expected to utilize advantages in capital, technology, market, as well as distinctive resources to promote the integrated industrial development between areas.
