Commercial areas and shopping malls in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, have prepared colorful activities and beautiful lantern shows for the upcoming Lantern Festival, which falls on Feb 5 this year.
Lantern shows, riddle-guessing, and DIY rabbit-style lantern making events will be available at Nanning MixC Mall from Feb 3 to 5.
Performers dressed up as Yuelao, a Chinese god of love and marriage, and the Seven Fairies will be presented from 8 pm to 10 pm on Feb 5 at Sanjie Liangxiang historical cultural block (Three Streets and Two Alleys). They will distribute snacks and lucky bags to visitors, with those wearing hanfu, the traditional Han clothing, will receive a lotus-style lantern for free.
In addition, those interested in getting a close look at Chinese dress culture and the etiquette system can visit Nanning InCity on the evening of the Lantern Festival.
