Guangxi will launch 12 measures to improve its aviation sector, especially in regards to passengers and cargo, officials of the Transport Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced on Feb 4.

The measures state that relevant enterprises will be guided to provide services such as allowing transferring international passengers to stay in airport hotels for free or at a low price.

Of note, transferring international passengers are able to visit 5A-level scenic areas for free if they show their Nanning Wuxu International Airport, or Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, flight boarding passes within one month of landing.

Cargo import and export enterprises will also soon be able to make customs declarations online throughout the day to save costs in time and expenses.

The examination and approval processes for express business licenses will be optimized, so that processing centers will be able to get the licenses within 22 work days instead of the previous 45. The minimum time it would take is 13 work days.

Guangxi will move forward the hardware and software upgrade and renovation of Nanning intelligent aviation cargo logistics service platforms. They will also shorten the time it takes for an arriving aircraft to get release approval by 80 percent.

Furthermore, the whole process of aviation cargo transportation will gradually become paperless. As it stands, the paperless rate will reach 30 percent by the end of March this year.

In addition, Guangxi will support airports to resume transit visa-free policies and open more air cargo transportation routes linking Nanning and ASEAN countries.
