On February 5, the 2023 Dongxing, China—Mong Cai, Vietnam Friendly Football Match at Lantern Festival was held in Dongxing Stadium again after a three-year suspension.

At about 11:00 a.m. when the referee blew the whistle, the match kicked off with the best players of both teams. Despite the rain, the match was exciting. The fans waved flags and shouted for the team they supported, and the stadium was filled with exhilaration. Every goal scored ignited a round of jubilation. During the 90-minute fierce match, Lyu Kaiwen from Dongxing, China scored two goals and Zhao Haichao contributed with a lob shot. Finally, Dongxing defeated Mong Cai 3-0.

Dongxing, China—Mong Cai, Vietnam Friendly Football Match, first held in 1993, has been played for 28 editions. It was co-sponsored by the People"s Government of Dongxing City and the People's Committee of Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) and has become an important brand activity for sports and cultural exchanges between the two cities.
