On February 6, the folk tourism activity of the 2023 Baiku Yao Nianjie Festival was held in Nandan County, Hechi, Guangxi. Baiku Yao people (a branch of the Yao ethnic group known for their white pants) in Guizhou and Guangxi dressed in festival costumes celebrated their traditional festival.

The annual market day around the 15th day of the first lunar month is an important festival for the Baiku Yao people. Locals call it "Nianjie Festival", literally meaning the annual market day. On this day, Baiku Yao people greeted guests with activities such as bronze drum playing, gun volleying, and singing. They also organized a series of activities such as the whipping top competition, and the exhibition of intangible cultural heritage and folk customs. The Nianjie Festival attracts many tourists to visit, go shopping, and experience the mysterious Baiku Yao culture on the bronze drum, costume, ballad, etc.

Baiku Yao people, with a total population of more than 40,000, mainly live in Guangxi"s Nandan County and Guizhou's Libo County. In recent years, with the construction of the inter-provincial tourism corridor from Nandan to Libo via Lihu and Yaoshan, a new tourism destination has been formed.
