A reception celebrating the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independent Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held by the consulate general of Myanmar in Nanning on Feb 24.
Kyaw Soe Thein, the consul-general of Myanmar in Nanning, noted that the high-level opening-up policies will further bolster cooperation between Myanmar and Guangxi, as China is currently Myanmar's largest trade partner and its second largest investment resource.
Guangxi officials noted that Guangxi has long been paying attention to its friendly cooperation with Myanmar. As a result, the bilateral trade volume between Guangxi and Myanmar in 2022 expanded by 60.4 percent to $183 million. Guangxi exports its textiles and garments, ceramic products, as well as steel products and construction machinery to Myanmar, while it imports Myanmar's agricultural products and mineral resources.
Kyaw Soe Thein expressed hope during the event that the relationship between Myanmar and China will be further strengthened in the future, bringing more benefits to local people and creating conditions for regional peaceful and stable development.
