The Malaysia session of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone Investment Promotion Fair was held simultaneously in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 22.
Over 200 business representatives from the Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and Malaysia attended the event both online and on-site.
At the main Nanning venue, guests introduced the construction and operation of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, investment opportunities in Malaysia, and related policy benefits. Other topics of discussion included the investment policies of the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park, the logistics policies of Guangxi's Beibu Gulf Port, and Guangxi's investment and trade policies relating to Malaysia.
At the parallel session running in Kuala Lumpur, guests discussed how Malaysian goods can benefit from Beibu Gulf Port's policies, and how these products can enter into the Chinese market.
In recent years, the opening up and development of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone has been steadily accelerated. In 2022, Beibu Gulf Port handled a freight volume of 371 million metric tons, an increase of 3.7 percent year-on-year. In terms of industrial development, the main business revenue of eight major industrial clusters within the zone exceeded 1 trillion yuan ($146.5 billion).
