As the Sanyuesan holiday approaches, major scenic spots and travel agencies in Hechi are working hard in preparation.
Sanyuesan, which refers to the 3rd day of the 3rd month in the Chinese lunar calendar, is a traditional festival for many ethnic groups across China. This year's Sanyuesan will fall on April 22, and Guangxi has announced a three-day holiday from April 21 to 23.
Hou Jianghong, vice president of the Hechi Tourism Association, predicted that the first tourism peak after the Spring Festival holiday would occur during the Sanyuesan holiday. However, due to the short holiday period, most tourists may plan to travel within their region or city.
The Cotton Tiankeng Cliff Hotel in Luocheng Mulam autonomous county has recently received many consultation calls, and some tourists have started booking rooms for the holiday period. Qiu Jingting, manager of the marketing department of the scenic spot, said that the number of consultation calls that they have received was two to three times higher than before.
According to Wei Haiyan, general manager of Hechi's Tiantian Travel Agency, many travel agencies in Hechi have begun to prepare relevant tourism packages and tours for the holiday. In addition to radiating to the 11 counties and districts in the city, the cities near Hechi have also been included in planning processes.
Some tourists have turned their eyes outside Guangxi. Staff member of a travel agency in charge of outbound tourism in the city said, "Many tourists have already asked about traveling to Thailand, and some have submitted application forms."
"The scenic area is currently undergoing beautification and decoration processes, and during the festival, we will be giving away free lanterns and flower lanterns to tourists," said Qin Jialie, manager of the Bainiaoyan Scenic Area in Bama Yao autonomous county.
An official from Tian'e county's bureau of culture, radio, television, sports, and tourism introduced that in order to attract more tourists to visit during the holiday, local government will launch a series of themed activities, including the "Hechi Bronze Drum Culture and Art Festival" and the Sanyuesan Festival of Zhuang ethnic group.
