Hechi promotes tourism industry with raft of new projects

Over the past three years, Hechi has focused on promoting 96 cultural and tourism projects based on a total investment of over 3.1 billion yuan ($450 million), in a bid to further shore up the high-quality development of its tourism industry.

From April 17 to 19, the 21st Hechi Bronze Drum & Folk Song Art Festival was held in Tian'e county. Taking this opportunity, the county has invested 130 million yuan to implement tourism infrastructure construction projects.

In March, the second Hechi Tourism Development Conference was staged in Bama Yao autonomous county, dubbed "the hometown of longevity." In the wake of the conference, Bama continues to promote the construction of major projects and develop its health and wellness industry.

In Lihu Yao township, Nandan county, BaikuYao, known as the "living fossil of human civilization" by UNESCO, is emerging as a hot new tourist destination driven by major cultural and tourism projects.

To date, the city has built 51 star-rated hotels, 14 tourism consulting service centers, and 16 star-rated campsites for motorists. There are also 36 national 4A-level tourist attractions in the area.

In 2023, Hechi will promote 60 key cultural and tourism projects, with 24 rated at the autonomous region level, based on an investment of over 800 million yuan.
