Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, a frontier and window for China's opening-up to ASEAN countries, has been deepening friendly exchanges with ASEAN youths in recent years.

Xie Jianwei, deputy Party secretary of the Guangxi Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, announced on April 19, in Nanning.

Guangxi has now established a foreign affairs service volunteer team that consists of 1,000 members. These volunteers are members from the China (Guangxi) International Youth Exchange Institute or university students in Guangxi who are majoring in ASEAN languages.

The region has organized various exchange events and projects such as the China-ASEAN Youth Campus, which laid a solid foundation to further deepen youth exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.

Guangxi is one of the most popular destinations for ASEAN students when considering pursuing further studies in China. The region has also opened brand projects such as online micro-classes on poverty alleviation and the China-ASEAN Youth Friendship Story Sharing project, which have attracted a lot of ASEAN youths to participate, therefore providing new platforms for global youth exchanges.

Xie also added that Guangxi will continue to devote efforts into building international platforms for youth exchanges this year.

The implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has brought new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN countries as well as for youth exchanges.

Officials of the Guangxi Committee of the Communist Youth League of China have put forward that Guangxi will organize more foreign affairs events for young people. These events will feature Guangxi characteristics and enhance cooperation in entrepreneurship and employment.
