A grand wedding between Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups is taking place in Shangsi County, Fangchenggang, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. As part of the festivities, a long line of performers from the groom's side is engaging in the traditional Luwu dance to fetch the bride. This dance is not only considered a blessing for local Zhuang residents' festive activities but has also been recognized as a regional intangible cultural heritage. Typically performed by teenagers wearing "antler" headdresses, the Luwu symbolizes good luck and auspiciousness. However, the Zhuang groom has to complete a series of tasks before he has access to his Yao bride, together with the help of his groomsmen. Tasks include singing, drinking, and going through a gatecrash. This grand sense of ceremony is a unique custom for weddings of the Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups.
