The China-Niger Medical Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) recently unveiled its plaque, Guangxi officials announced on May 19.

The center was built by the 23rd Chinese medical team that was dispatched to Niger, marking the establishment of Guangxi's first overseas TCM center. All members of the 23rd Chinese medical team are from Guangxi.

The medical team left for Niger in December 2022, and is expected to finish an 18-month overseas medical service tour. Since their arrival, the team has been taking an active role in boosting the promotion of TCM culture in overseas areas.

Ling Yongpin, head of the medical team, said that the establishment of the center will help realize the application of TCM in clinical treatments. The team has also released teaching materials and offered TCM training sessions to Nigerian medical staff during this time.
