The scale of China's digital economy reached 50.2 trillion yuan (around $7.12 trillion) in 2022, maintaining its position as the world's second largest, according to a report published by the Cyberspace Administration of China on Tuesday.
The report pointed out that in 2022, the development of Digital China enters a new stage.
In 2022, China witnessed deepening integration between digital technology and economy. The digitization of agriculture are acculturated, with the informatization rate of agricultural production surpassing 25 percent, according to the report.
The rate of key process digitization in industrial enterprises nationwide increased to 58.6 percent, while the popularization rate of digital research and development design tools reached 77.0 percent, the report said.
The national online retail sales reached 13.79 trillion yuan, with the online sales of physical goods accounting for 27.2 percent of the total retail sales of consumer goods, reaching a historic high, according to the report.
