On May 30, the city of Baise announced the harvesting and launching date of the main varieties of Baise Mangoes in 2023. Tainong No. 1 Mango (no embryo) is harvested and launched on the market as early as June 5, while Guiqi Mango, which is popular among Guangxi citizens, will be launched on the market on July 18.
The main varieties of Baise Mango include: Tainong No. 1 Mango, Guifei Mango, Xinshiji Mango, Jinhuang Mango, Hongxiangya Mango, Renong No. 1 Mango, Guire Mango No. 10, and Guiqi Mango (Guire Mango No. 82) .
Tainong No.1 Mango is a is a small and medium-sized fruit. When it is ripe, the skin turns golden yellow, the flesh is sweet, refreshing, tender, juicy, low in fiber and rich in fragrance, and the sugar content ranges from 17% to 21%. It is quite popular among consumers.
Guifei Mango is a medium-sized fruit. When it is ripe, its skin turns bright yellow with colorful blushes, and the flesh is sweet, refreshing, fine-textured and fiberless. The skin is thin and the flesh succulent.
Hongxiangya Mango is a medium and large-sized fruit, with each fruit weighing about 500 g. When it is ripe, the skin turns red-yellow, and the flesh is fine-textured, firm, low in fiber, and has a sweet and refreshing taste.
Guire Mango No. 82, also known as Guiqi Mango, is a medium and small-sized fruit with an average weight of 271 g per fruit. It is small but exquisite, and has a green skin both before and after ripening, which is an important distinguishing feature from other mango varieties. After ripening, the flesh turns golden yellow. It tastes sweet and refreshing, with an intense aroma and little fiber. The sugar content is about 20%. It is renowned as the "King of Mangoes".
Jinhuang Mango is a large-sized fruit. The fruit is huge and the seed thin, with each fruit weighing 1,200 g on average. When it is ripe, both the skin and flesh turn orange-yellow. With very little fiber and a fine and smooth texture, the flesh tastes aromatic, sweet, refreshing, and succulent.
