On June 7, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Kandal Province, Cambodia for the expressway project from Phnom Penh to Bavet City of Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia.
The expressway is invested and constructed by China Road and Bridge Corporation. The main expressway has a total length of 135.1 km, with two-way four lanes and a design speed of 100 km/h. The project is constructed under the BOT (build-operate-transfer) mode and has a total investment of about USD 1.38 billion, a construction period of 4 years and an agreed operation period of 50 years.
