On the morning of July 7, the first Lancang-Mekong-Sichuan Express train carrying automotive spare parts departed from Chengdu International Railway Port in Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu.

The train came from Rayong Province, Thailand, then ran from Vientiane, Laos, to Chengdu International Railway Port via China-Laos Railway, and left for Europe via China Railway Express. It will arrive in Budapest, Hungary, on July 17. The newly-opened Lancang-Mekong-Sichuan Express links the Lancang-Mekong and Sichuan-Europe express routes, with organic combination of the latter two"s regular trains, and realized Southeast Asia-Europe connectivity. It can shorten the transportation time to 15 days with trains running at the fastest speed, saving more than half of the time compared with traditional sea transportation. (Bo)
