The Youyiguan Border Gate - located on the border with Vietnam in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region - has seen a significant increase in the number of daily inbound and outbound travelers.

It recorded an average of over 4,500 people passing through each day recently, officials at the border gate announced on July 16.

In the first half of the year, Youyiguan Border Gate reported a steady increase in the number of inbound and outbound travelers each month.

During that period, 604,000 travelers passed through the border gate, registering a growth rate of 180 percent year-on-year. What's more, over 19,000 tour groups, totaling over 30,000 people, crossed the border.

The passage is one of the most convenient land border crossings to Vietnam and ASEAN countries. As such, factors such as the concentration of traditional festivals in the first half of the year, the popularity of cross-border tourism between China and Vietnam and the restoration of efficient border inspection channels have contributed to the increasing flow of people between the two nations.

To respond to the expanding flow of travelers this year, the Youyiguan Border Gate has been optimizing its border inspection services and reallocating police resources.

A pre-notification and pre-inspection mechanism for tour groups has been established - providing services such as guiding and redirecting travelers, policy consultations and problem-solving to ensure streamlined border crossings.
