A promotions conference for the Guilin Festival was held in Edinburgh in Scotland in the United Kingdom on Aug 6 - the first time the major arts festival had traveled overseas.
The conference aimed to showcase the aesthetic attractions of Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. It promoted its landscape and art, the harmonious balance between nature and culture, its vibrant elements and the unique charms of Guilin in building itself as a world-class tourism city.
Zhang Biao, China's consul general in Edinburgh, said that the current time marked a peak in the Scottish city as a hub of art and culture, with a long history of arts festivals.
Zhang added that the Chinese consulate in Edinburgh would fully support cooperation between the two cities and their respective arts festivals.

The 2023 Guilin Festival, highlighting the coexistence between the arts and the city, will be held in Guilin from Oct 27 to Nov 5. It will explore the unique physical and cultural landscapes of Guilin and integrate various art forms such as dance, music, cross-field creations and outdoor performances. The organizers say it will present a variety of exciting performances and cultural activities for the public - making it the most anticipated city arts event in China in 2023.
Hao Rong, director of the Guilin Festival's organizing committee, invited artists from all over the world to come to the event and work together to provide support for the revitalization of artistic creation - as well as contribute to the creation of a new model of urban artistic civilization.
