The Guangxi Health Preservation Industry Docking Conference and the licensing ceremony for the Yangtze River Delta (Guangxi) Wellness Base were held in Bama Yao autonomous county on Aug 15.

There are 96 longevity villages in China, with 36 of them located in Guangxi, ranking first in the country. There are nearly 7,000 centenarians in Guangxi, accounting for about one-tenth of the national total. Guangxi has unique advantages in developing its wellness industry, such as an average temperature of above 18 C during the cold winter months.

In 2016, Hechi was named the first prefecture-level "World Longevity City" in China, with 19.5 centenarians per 100,000 people in the city. Nandan, Donglan, and Fengshan were awarded the titles of "Guangxi Summer Tourism City," "National Remote Elderly Care Base," and "International Longevity and Health Preservation Base," respectively. This year, Guangxi's first national-level cultural and ecological protection zone, the National-level Bronze Drum (Hechi) Cultural Ecology Protection Zone, was established.

During the conference, officials of the Hechi municipal government stated that it will cooperate with cities in the Yangtze River Delta region to develop the wellness industry. Hechi also plans to continue providing comprehensive services for project construction, and will strive to create an investment environment that is service-oriented, cost-effective, and efficient.

On the day of the event, the launching ceremony of "Retirement in Guangxi" and "Summer Retreat in Guangxi" brands was also held. Guangxi also awarded licenses to 10 Yangtze River Delta (Guangxi) Wellness Bases, including Bama Century Health Garden and Bama Narada Resort & Spa Cifu Lake.
