A short video contest and a news conference to promote Chinese tourism was held at the China Cultural Centre in Bangkok, capital of Thailand on Wednesday. The poster of the short video contest will be on display in more than 14,000 convenience stores across Thailand for 30 days from Friday.
About 60 people participated in the activities, including officials and business representatives of both countries.
The short video contest encourages contestants from Thailand to create videos to showcase China"s rich cultural and tourism resources.
Que Xiaohua, director of the China Cultural Center in Bangkok as well as the director of the China National Tourism Office in Bangkok, said the Tourism Office in Bangkok has carried out various and creative promotion activities to encourage Thai people to travel to China.
He also introduced the upgraded brand logo “Nihao China” (Hello China) designed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China to promote China tourism oversea. “The Tourism Office will make full use of the logo in various cultural tourism promotion activities to convey China's enthusiasm and friendliness to the Thai people, showing them a reliable, admirable and respectable image of China,” he said.
The Chinese Embassy in Thailand has released the registration information via its Facebook and WeChat accounts. Registration for the contest will begin on Sept. 1 and end on Sept. 30. Winners will be awarded with a five-day tour to China.
