The inauguration ceremony for the "Chinese Bookshelf" of the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) was held in Manila, capital of the Philippines, on September 14. It was co-sponsored by NLP and Beijing Language and Culture University Press and organized by the Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation.
In the event, more than 200 books were donated to NLP from Beijing Language and Culture University Press, including contemporary Chinese literature and Chinese-language teaching materials. Director Adriano of NLP expressed his gratitude for the donation, saying that the "Chinese Bookshelf" project is of great significance in promoting cultural exchanges between the Philippines and China.
