Nandan county's Mangchang town, by relying on the rice industry, has become a national-level strong agricultural town. This was recently announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Finance.

Baping village in Mangchang town is the main rice production area in Nandan county. This year, the planting area for Baping rice reached 70,900 mu (4,727 hectares), with an output value of about 137 million yuan ($18.7 million).

To enhance the brand influence of Baping rice, the county established a standardized planting base around Baping village. By adopting the "company + cooperative + base + farmers" industrial linkage model, the county was able to register two rice trademarks and develop 10 rice products.

The base has promoted integrated farming models, such as rice-fish farming and rice-duck farming. At the same time, a complete rice industry chain has been formed, which includes planting, harvesting, processing, and brand marketing processes.

The county has also created terraced fields that cover over 3,000 mu, which have aptly been named the "Green Rice Flower Sea" project, in Baping village. This project has become a rural complex centered around high-quality rice cultivation. It also integrates ecological breeding, agricultural tourism, agricultural science popularization, and processing services.

In recent years, the "Green Rice Flower Sea" rural complex has received over 200,000 tourists annually, generating over 30 million yuan in revenue from the leisure agriculture and rural tourism sectors.
