Imports, exports surge at Guangxi's Youyiguan Border Gate

The import and export value of goods through the Youyiguan Border Gate – located in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region – hit 299.14 billion yuan ($41.08 billion) in the first three quarters of 2023, a whopping year-on-year increase of 129.5 percent, Youyiguan Customs announced on Nov 8.

Of that, the value of its foreign trade with neighboring Vietnam reached 232.91 billion yuan, accounting for over 70 percent of the total, continuing to lead other land border gates in the region.

Since the start of the year, Youyiguan Customs has implemented various measures to optimize its business environment, improving the efficiency of goods inspections for imports and exports.

From January to October, the number of vehicles processed through the Youyiguan Border Gate reached 357,000, up 134.7 percent year-on-year.

In the first three quarters, the export value of high-tech products such as mobile phone accessories and monocrystalline silicon wafers through the the gate reached 42.67 billion yuan, up 68.9 percent. In addition, exports of labor-intensive products such as textiles, clothing and bags reached 28.55 billion yuan, up 135.2 percent. Imports of agricultural products such as fruit remained in hot demand, realizing 19.66 billion yuan, an increase of 413.8 percent.
