The Third International Medical Innovation and Cooperation Forum was held in Fangchenggang, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Nov 26.

Organized by the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the forum acts as a bridge for communication and exchanges between countries alongside the Belt and Road and the SCO region.

The forum aims to deepen cooperation mechanisms that promote diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability. It also promotes the efficient flow of medical resources, the improvement of medical quality, and the accessibility of medical and health services in all countries.

The forum includes events such as an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, sub-forums, and a closing ceremony. The opening ceremony also facilitated project signings and unveiling ceremonies, with a total of 25 projects signed and unveiled. These projects have a total investment of 21.9 billion yuan ($3.1 billion) and involve various fields, such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, traditional medicine, food safety, and nutritional health.

Since 2019, Fangchenggang has focused on developing its medicine, medical care and pharmaceutical sectors. It has also accelerated industrial development, improved infrastructure, and carried out pragmatic cooperation.

Fangchenggang will take this forum as an opportunity to further deepen international cooperation in the medical, medical care and pharmaceutical industries. It will deepen communication and cooperation with SCO member countries and ASEAN countries at the local level, and increase its efforts to jointly promote the construction of a community with a shared future.
