On December 6, the traditional Vietnamese drama, or hat cheo, Quan Am Thi Kinh (Goddess of Mercy) was staged at the Guangxi Culture & Art Center as one of the standout performances during the 10th China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theatre Week.

Quan Am Thi Kinh is regarded as one of the seven finest examples of Vietnam"s traditional hat cheo folk treasure, known for its profound moral teaching values.

It is learned that the Vietnam National Hat Cheo Theater, integrating performances, research, and talent cultivation of hat cheo, is dedicated to preserving and developing this traditional Vietnamese folk art form. Over the past 70 years, the theater has produced numerous plays with themes ranging from folklore to history and modern-day stories, delighting audiences with tours in Asia and parts of Europe. (MXJ)
