Myanmar to hold traditional boxing contest to mark 76th anniversary of Independence Day

Myanmar will hold a traditional boxing competition in Yangon to mark the 76th anniversary of the country's Independence Day, the Myanmar Lethwei Federation said on Friday.
The federation's chief executive officer U Kyaw Zin Oo told Xinhua that two Thai contestants will also compete in the competition, which will be held at the Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium on January 4.
The event is jointly organized by the Yangon government and the Myanmar Lethwei Federation, and all matches in the contest will abide by Myanmar's traditional boxing rules.
The 76th anniversary of Myanmar's Independence Day falls on January 4, 2024.
