In return for the generous gift of truckloads of honey mandarins and Orah mandarins received from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Heilongjiang sent 100,000 boxes of cranberries to Guangxi as a gift.
Located in Fuyuan City, in the Heilongjiang Province of northeast China, the cranberry planting base is the country"s largest of its kind.
Through a unique "flooding" method of harvesting, ripe cranberries rise to the surface of the water, resembling a sea of bright rubies.
The year 2023 saw a prodigious cranberry harvest at the base, with production amounting to 2,700 tons.
Fuyuan introduced cranberry planting techniques to local farmers in 2014, and now the city's total planting area of the fruit has reached 4,200 mu (280 hectares).
