Bama Yao autonomous county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has been drawing over 100,000 people annually from North China for a vacation here for its fame as an internationally renowned hometown of longevity.

The warm winter weather, high levels of negative oxygen ions in the air, and the slightly alkaline water have made Bama ideal for health preservation, said Dong Yuhe from Heilongjiang province, who has been in Bama for vacation for six years.

The influx of these individuals has stimulated local economic activity, leading many residents to convert their spare rooms or courtyards into homestays, providing accommodation for visitors and generating employment opportunities within the area.

Additionally, by offering elderly care services and organizing leisure activities, locals have seen increased economic benefits and higher incomes.

According to local authorities, Bama's health and wellness industry has rapidly expanded, encompassing health foods, rehabilitation, and leisure fitness.

In the future, Bama is expected to enhance its tourism products and services, accelerate the development of tourism-supporting facilities, and persist in advancing the construction of Bama's international longevity hometown and health tourism destination.
