Guilin Huixian Karst Wetland and Beihai Jinhai Bay Mangrove received certificates for being named International (National) Important Wetland on Feb 2, the 28th World Wetlands Day, and the 2nd United Nations Wetlands Day.
Additionally, the document announcing the selection of Xijin Wetland in Hengzhou to the National Important Wetlands List was read out.
With this, Guangxi now boasts four internationally essential wetlands, one nationally important wetland, 42 autonomous regionally important wetlands, 24 national wetland parks, and four internationally essential wetlands, placing it fourth in the national rankings.
