On March 1, it was officially announced in Yulin, Guangxi, that as China's "Southern Capital of Medicine" and "Southern Capital of Spices," Yulin City would strengthen cooperation and exchanges with ASEAN countries on spice standardization to explore and establish a "port-Yulin" spice import supervision model.

Yulin is the largest hometown of overseas Chinese in Guangxi. It has long been a major planting and distribution center for spices in the Southeast Asian region. Currently, Yulin accounts for the distribution of 80% of China's spices and over two-thirds of the world's spices. It is China's largest distribution center for the import and export of spices, as well as the spice pricing center. The Yulin International Spice Trading Market has an annual turnover exceeding RMB 32 billion. (Bo)
