On March 7, the 98th day after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, Nina , a 6-year-old Lao child who suffered from thalassemia, walked out of the transplant ward accompanied by medical staff from the Department of Hematology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University. She had recovered and would be discharged. This is the first case of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for a foreign thalassemia patient carried out in Guangxi. It is also a successful attempt at cross-border medical services by the hospital. (Bo)
