A group of foreign journalists representing the China International Press Communication Center embarked on a captivating journey to Guangxi. From March 11 to 16, they explored the enchanting cities of Beihai, Liuzhou, and Guilin, each offering its own unique charm and cultural significance.
Their adventure commenced in the Golden Bay Mangrove, Beihai city, where the journalists were captivated by the lush mangrove forests and rich biodiversity. On March 12, the delegation delved into the Maritime Silk Road culture of the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) at the Han-cultural museum of Hepu county. The museum's collection of over 5,000 relics, including brown silk-wrapped onyx, glaze, and amber, offered a fascinating insight into the historical exchanges between China and other Asian countries.
The journalists' journey continued in Liuzhou, where they were introduced to China's new energy vehicle technology at the SGMW Baojun Base. The journalists also visited the Liuzhou Luosifen Industrial Park, discovering the popularity and economic impact of Luosifen. This river snail rice noodle dish generated over 66.99 billion yuan ($9.31 billion) in sales revenue for the entire industry chain in 2023, driving more than 300,000 people to employment. Argentine journalist Kopali Baburo was particularly impressed and expressed his desire to introduce this unique cuisine to his country.
Later, in Guilin, they visited Guangxi Normal University, where they learned about the institution's distinctive teaching methods and its international engagement. Subsequently, the journalists embarked on a boat ride along the Lijiang River, not only reveling in the breathtaking scenery but also participating in efforts to preserve the river's natural beauty.
