Liuhe village, which is located in the scenic area of Liu Sanjie's hometown in Ma'an village, Yizhou district, Hechi city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, will offer a large-scale live show integrating nature and art for the 2024 Sanyuesan Festival.
The village retains an extensive collection of historical attractions featuring Liu Sanjie's life stories, including the abode where she once lived, and the old longan trees where she sang with her beloved. Hordes of tourists are drawn here for its historical sites and the excellent cultural works related to Liu Sanjie. Liuhe village has also been promoting its folk song culture, particularly the Liu Sanjie Ballad, by holding various activities, such as folk song performances and duet singing games for tourists.
In recent years, the scenic spot has witnessed a surge in popularity, receiving more than 400,000 tourists each year and bringing increased prosperity to locals. More than 200 villagers from the basin of the Xiajian River are engaged in businesses related to tourism, such as agritainment, raft sightseeing tours and local specialty products. So far, the annual income of villagers has increased by approximately 20 million yuan ($2.77 million).
