According to a research report released by Maybank on April 12, six markets in ASEAN, i.e. Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, reported a jump in pure electric vehicle (PEV) sales to 141,000 units in 2023. This represents a three-fold increase compared to 2022. China's EV makers have a "dominant advantage" over other global automakers from Japan and South Korea in these markets. (Bo)
