Recently, "Liuzhou Luosifen" has been designated as the official English name according to the Specification for the Use of English for the Package of Prepackaged Liuzhou Luosifen, a local standard of Liuzhou City published on the website of the Foreign Affairs Office of Liuzhou Municipal People's Government.

The Specification offers guidance on English translations for distinctive flavors like "Extra sour/odorous and spicy flavo(u)r" and "Mala flavo(u)r" (or "Numbingly spicy flavo(u)r"). Additionally, it establishes terminology and definitions for the use of English for the package of prepackaged Liuzhou Luosifen, providing a reference for enterprises involved in exporting this product to foreign markets.

The literal translation as "Luosifen" helps prevent confusion with snails during the export of prepackaged Liuzhou Luosifen, thereby reducing misunderstandings. Furthermore, this translation serves to promote the culinary culture of Luosifen, accurately communicate the essence of Liuzhou-style regional cuisine, and establish the brand image of Liuzhou Luosifen.
